Located in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria, the Gurara Hydroelectric Power Plant is a significant asset owned and operated by North South Power Limited (NSP). This state-of-the-art facility underscores NSP’s commitment to sustainable energy production and economic growth.

The Gurara Hydroelectric Power Plant has an installed capacity of 30MW, utilizing three turbines each with a 12.5MVA alternator operating at an 80% power factor. The plant’s typical annual energy production is 115GWH, with a station capacity factor of 44%. The target commencement of operation was set for 2021.

Empowering Communities with Sustainable Energy

To ensure efficient power delivery, development is underway on a 110km, 132KV transmission line. This line will connect the hydro power plant to the TCN Kudenda substation in Kaduna State, facilitating the seamless integration of generated power into the national grid.  The Gurara Hydroelectric Power Plant exemplifies NSP’s dedication to operational excellence and sustainable energy solutions.
